Fortieth Entry: Post-Hallows

Sun Nov 1, 2009, 12:51 AM
Hello beautiful people! 8D I love you all so much. C: I hope you've been well off, and at least better than I've been. :aww: I've had a cold for the past few days (well, I've had some sort of perpetual sickness for the past month or so, and it made my immune system much more susceptible to disease).

Anyway, I was well enough to go Trick-or-treating with my friends today, which was kickass! >:3 I went as Carl Fredrickson from "UP", and constructed a Kevin back-pack on the side (I totally stole ~ebilartista's idea). No one figured out who I was, but that's okay. I wasn't wearing a wig, and I don't have an enormous chin, so that probably threw people off. :B We had lots of fun afterward, I was a little bit of a stick in the mud, because I had to quietly mope around since I thought I was going to throw-up. :noes: But it passed while we were watching the movie "17 again". I don't care if it has Zack Effron in it, it is still frikkin' hilarious (and the predictability is funny too :giggle: ). Then we played lots of DDR...which--for some inexplicable reason--I play better when I'm sick. :I

Oh, alright, enough about me, you wanna know things that concern you, non? xD Well, here's what I've got for you silly, silly people that I love so much:

One random word from ten individuals, and please make it clear that you are giving me a random word (or name, I don't care). xD None of that stringing-words-together business, please.

How did your OC(s) spend his/her/their Halloween? I'll doodle up some of my favorite responses/OC(s). Only requirement is to say what costume they had on.

Thirty Ninth Entry:The cutest girl I ever did know

Sat Oct 17, 2009, 7:56 PM
She died today.

Fuck.

(For those of you concerned, it's my hamster, Momoko. She died of dehydration because of her diabetes.)

OCTOBER FEATURES [full]
1. :iconbrilliantredfury: Realistic marvel/DC; lots of powerful women; great action poses!
>"Lion Flame Tattoo"- Your style is really cool, and I like that you have a good eye for squiggly lines. The flow here is really cool, the lion's mane looks really messy and made of flames, and I love it.
>"The Shadow Fox Re-Color"- Characters with a lot of black in their scheme are hard to pull-off, but you did it expertly here. You have very nice lines, so they're complimented well by your coloring (plus, this character is really cool).
>"The Peacekeeper Background"- Right off the bat, I was drawn to this piece. The natural colors are beautiful, and the character is quite noticeable, plus her pose is ace.
2. :iconmo-zz: Cool still-life; Good at wordplay; good at satire
>"Butts"- I still think that this is a hilariously creative way to deal when faced with those theme challenge things. Great job on finding that loophole, and your still-life art is still amazing~♥
>"Serj Tankian"- It's Rober Downey Jr., right? 'Cause if it is, then you did an awesome job at capturing his visage!
>"Comic for Biology Hexaditidom P1"/"Comic for Giology Hexaditidom P2"- These are technically one piece, so I put them both up. I really like the simplicity in the descriptions, and it's quite educational, really. Great job on the wireframes, and all of the pictures. :aww:
3. :iconh4x0rk4t: Cute style; clean lines; great improvement
>"Lock and Load" Nice job on the black shading~! You executed it excellently, and the background strip is a perfect addition to this piece.
>"Pirrapirrapirra" Great composition~! I love the gradients, and great job on getting them to be transparent, hehe. Great job on proportions and her expression is ace. I want those shoes.
>"haxwhut"- I like how it looks like one of those fake screen-shots because of the borders, and the guy is like oAo.
4. :iconebilartista: pixel animator; smooth style; good improvement
>"Pandachu Request"- (no, I'm not just putting this up because it's mine, I have reasons) The composition's great, and you executed the explosion thingy well. The pose is very natural, and the expression is adorable.
>"Phil Dancin Request"- I always love your pixel animations. They're very cute, and smooth. This one has a lot of content, so that's why I like it 'cause you use a Chia rather than just the standard circular tards.
>"Sands Likes Books"- Haha, very nice. The pose is wonderful, and you get a feeling of what Sands is like, just by looking at his expression and body language (well...maybe not the right impression, but pretty close). I like how you made him in your own style, and not like the Neopets version. :aww:
>:icondrinkjuiceplz:
5. :iconbowserknight: western strips style; funny; interesting characters
>"TicTacToeMan gets a prize"- I still like your humor, hehe. Poor Rick~ :tighthug: I kinda like when you don't use the shape tools and such. This piece is old, so I'd like to see how good you are now~! :3
>"Zobe Plushy"Even though you used the shape toold and such, this is very cute. I love the sock for a hat thing, hehe. Good job on making it look like a doll, like, lifeless and whatnot.
>"Kir and Rickroll"- I still love how your characters have evolved over the years. It's good to see you trying new poses and such.

SHOUT!

...WITH GLEE!!! :la:

It's not really important to any of you guys but I needs to express mah joys!

I won round 2 of :iconocbc: and am now thumbing round 3
AND
I won round 1 of Cooking Wars (here :iconmynameismad:)!!! Super excited for the match-ups!

TWO OCTS AT THE SAME TIME OH MAN.

I think that it's luck, though, because I'm barely passing by the skin of my teeth. ;_; I can make much better comics, but I keep slacking off (DANGIT *hits self* OW ). SO, my next two entries will be 100% better! THEY-WILL-BE.
In conclusion, I'd like to thank all of my watchers for allowing me to clutter their inboxes with shit during the past couple of months (especially you scrap-watchers). ♥

I'd also like to thank all of my opponents for being such nice/awesome people (and for making some killer OCs!). QAQ
Brocco :iconyektuikuto: Shinjiro, Az :iconazkopheal: Fyx, Daz, Ykkz :iconssbfreak:

I KNOW I AM A NERD, BUT I GIVE OUT FREE HUGS (and requests). :icontruckglompplz:~♥

I feel like there's something else I'm supposed to say...

So... I'm going to have a journal at the beginning of every month since I'm doing monthly features. Get them while they're hot! :U (at the bottom~!)

Today, we had our first meeting for the new Graphic Novels club at our school~! I think it went relatively well. We didn't do much 'cept for skim comics and talk about meeting dates, but that's what's to be expected about the first meeting. I'm not sure how things will work out since we don't know how to run a club...at all. We're talking about comic book styles on Monday, so I'm psyched for that. Hopefully Perry will be able to shed some light on Marvel/DC since I don't know as much as I do about manga types. I'm also thinking that we'll talk about (throughout the year):
> structure
> panel/comic flow
> content
> shading techniques
> etc.
Please suggest pointers, topics, and other things that we should know about comics for our club! :noes: We'll hopefully talk about:
> Manga
- shonen(HunterXHunter)
- shojo(Ouran Highschool Host Club)
- stylistic(Tezuka Osamu; that wolverine manga Perry's got)
> Marvel/DC
- fantastic 4
- Civil War
- Deadpool (I think)
- going to buy some more over the weekend, hopefully
> Western
- Calvin & Hobbs
- Baby Blues
- Newspaper comics (etc.)
> Disney (it's a good style to go over)
- ...uh...just in-general, I suppose.
> Webcomics (maybe)
- Lackadaisy
- Top Dogz
- Braceton
- Rockstar
- Ever After
- Luna will probably bring up pendeogans

SEPTEMBER FEATURES If I owe you a feature, just tell me, and I'll put you up right away. ^ ^-
1.:iconmouse-chan: She's so nice and has beautiful coloring. ;w;~♥
>"Litchi Faye Ling"- I just adore this chibi. Its proportions are spectacular (yes, chibis/super-deformeds can have proportions), and the movement of the cloth is great.
>"ShugoChara Amu UnderTheSameSky"-Asjklajfsiej just spectacular. Your colors are spectacular, and I just love the clouds spiraling up in the sky~! @w@~♥
>"Target Practice Promo KABOOM"- Even though this is kind of an old picture, it really stuck with me. You rendered the explosion astoundingly well, and I the eggs are hilariously amazing. Details always amaze me, and this picture is brimming with them.
2.:icongamafort: Honestly, you're just too cute...
>"Supah Sketch Dump"- Hehe, I really like your ideas and concepts. :3 Your style is versatile, and I really like that. :aww: (hypnotist is interesting to me...)
>"Twas Brillig"-His rendition of the three creatures of the poem "Jabberwocky" looks wonderful. His lines are superb, and the coloring is simple and satisfying.
>"Birthday Muffin"- Ahhhh, it looks like a wallpaper that I would find on Cartoon Network or something. xD The concept is adorable, and your style is amazing. ;w;~♥ Plus, the background is a nice touch.
3.:iconlazychocobo: made the silly :iconterrificplz: account xD
"I CAN HAZ MISTAH J"- This chibi is absolutely edible. Choki has masterfully make Harley Quinn an adorable (and proportionate~) chibi. :P I could see this being on a deck of cards. xD
"Blood"-So...this is kind of a girl joke...but it's so funny. xD I'm always afraid of this happening to me... ;w;
"Dentata Alice Concept"- everyone check out her webcomic Dentata if you're not too sensitive to sex humor and such (oh...and there is some nudity...). ANYWAY, this piece is really funny if you know who her character Alice is. I love Domo, and this displays her ability to draw full-body people very nicely~! (great proportions and everything~!)
4.:iconsecchanfan23: you do have a brain. :noes:
>"Kitsune Movie Fake Screenshot1"- I just love fake movie screen shots. xD The background is superb, and your attention to lighting is ace.
>"SDL peeps WIP"-this style is adorable. ;w;~♥ It's line-less and charming.
>"Tablet Practice 2 Demon Days"-Very nice incorporation of the Gorrilaz cover. xD She has nice expressions here~! ^ ^
5.:icontolneir: Iiiiiit's Sassy Pants~! 8D
>"Winter Solstice"- I always love your scenery. You draw things like snow, stars, and sunset really well. :aww:
>"The RPG Parody Turnabouts pt2"-I've loved this comic ever since we started it. Your comic making skills have really improved since I first met you. :aww: Especially in the expression, backgrounds, and overall quality. Good show, old bean.
>"Animal Crossing"- I really like you incorporation of the animal crossing world with your style. It congeals well.
>"Powder Game Laser Show"-I know I'm only supposed to feature three, but this is just too entertaining to not show.
