So, just finished taking my last final today, and...they were all relatively easy, actually. I didn't actually finish my final project due today, but the interface was complete and my teacher really liked it, so I guess I did well. I'll finish and post it here 'cause I do like how it turned out for the most part. Anyway, I'm glad those are done with.
I'm going to try and get an actual job this summer, but if you guys are looking to do a little something on the side, then I suggest you check these out:

Is having a really fun challenge this coming week! First part is design a character, second part is to use EVERYONE'S designed character and make it into a story. Should be fun, good times all around! C:
FOR ALL YOU OCTERS:
Rumblefest 2012 is open for auditions (ends June 8th). I was in it last year, but I don't think I'll have time for it this year. Though I'm definitely following it! It's a very simple fighting OCT focusing more on character development than huge, epic, overarching plot. It's also set in
this really sweet lookin' castle. I highly recommend joining, or just be on the sidelines cheering with me!

Also, features are still up for grabs (read rules at bottom):
1.

ADP's got this great style with very soft lines that greatly complement her painterly style of colouring. Her specialty: DRAGONS.

"+Gratitude+" is a piece ADP really had fun with and it's reflected in the motion of the figure and its surroundings. "Alone" is a very powerful piece on a relatively small canvas, and it hints towards a mysterious story. I had a really tough time deciding whether to feature "Somber" or "Drive", so I just did both. They're old pieces, but I really love the thought that went behind the dragon in "Somber" as well as it's motion. The entire body is flaring out as it hisses. "Drive" is more focused on atmosphere and the dragon reflects not only itself but the sunrise/set it's viewing.

A complete sweetheart, and super fun to talk to! Her webcomic "Ascension" is pretty slick, and has it's own set of races.

While the first page of her comic isn't my favorite, it'll be easier to read it from here.

I really love Apple's comics, and my favorite part is how natural the character dialogeue and interaction is. Apple is able to very effectively write scenarios that seem real (plus this comic ties in her cannon with an OCT! :0 I think that's amazing). Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are these nifty little 2.5 inch cards that you can send to people around the world. I always find Apples' ATCs to be amazing, and "Dancing Jaynta ATC" displays just how skillful apple is with her colours. c: The motion of this one is also amazing, with the red tiger stripes giving it a whole extra flavour! It's really nice to see a happy side of Jay. Apple once told me that everyone should feel special on their Birthday. "Aerial greetings" is a piece done for our friend ~
pyonchitchi, and it's fantastic. The composition and flow of the two creatures are fantastic and the background provides a nice light medium to the dark and light contrasting figures.
2.

Knew this dude from Smackjeeves. His comic is discontinued, but he continues to have great art and a very neat way to colour (particlarly hair). c:

"Succubus" (which I am sorely sad I missed when it came out) is a great piece. Jason has really come a long way since I met him, and every time I see a new piece of his I am overjoyed to see he's tried something drastically new. Here he's really gone for dramatic lighting, and the eyes are mesmerizing. @w@ MOSTLY HE JUST DRAWS KAMI, but that's okay because she is adorable. Exhibit A: "True to Caesar". I really dig all the little details that went into Kami's Legionairre outfit. Picking the last one was tough, but "Silent Elevator" is really great 'cause we get to see a full-body of Kami. Jason likes his girls curvy, and I think that's fantastic, makes 'em squishy and adorable. There's also a lot of detail that went into this, and the shading on Pyramid Head's Apron is particularly nice. It also has a background WHICH I TOTALLY SUPPORT HAVING! \o/
3.

A very sociable guy and super thoughtful. KWill has a great style which, while not the most dynamic, has a lot of effort and quality put into it.

KWill has been doing these character concepts since November last year. It's really cool how he's kept to doing one a week considering it's made of a full-body coloured and an entire sheet of 25 essential expressions. The way he has them all laid-out makes a nice reference sheet of each character. Arande is my favorite just 'cause he came out so dang good. I really like CC 18 and 19, but I'mma put up the first 'cause then it's easier to get to the next.
KWill's comics are great. From story to action, he's got it covered. This page in particular has stuck with me ever since I read it. It's skillfully done and just so creative too, the panelling doesn' just combine at the end, it splits after the middle.
Couldn't decide which chibi I liked better so UP THEY BOTH GO! As I said, Kwill is really thoughtful. After the first round of #
ManyWorldsOCT, he drew every loser their character as a surprise consolation. The LeisixCyrus one is adorable, while I think the Eze one came out the best (gesture, lighting, etc.)

Malz is a really sweet lady with a penchant for things trolly and homestuckish. She has these soft, clean lines and really great facial expressions.

She doesn't do many full pieces these days, especially since she's on
the Tumblrs, but I enjoy this first piece because it's not often she does shading, and this is a great example of clean, yet effective cell shading. Just one layer of darktone gives the figure a heapton more depth and rounds out her face, clothes, and boobs. Also a great example of her linework around the mouth there.
This is more of a concept art, but I like the idea of just expressions through the eyes and differing eye shapes. All still clean, I find it hard to get one eye to match the other, though she does that here seamlessly.
Then there's this older piece, which I really enjoy the hatching is nice, but what really catches me here is how everything seems to glow based on her choice in line colour. Even though the background seems odd at first (brown water?), it's really grown on me and adds a depth of neutralness to rest on. Not loud, but prominent. I like it.
5.

Squishy, playful, and very nice girl who replaces swears with rainbows and sunshine. \o/ Also sheep. Lots of sheep.

The border I'm not too crazy about, but I'm assuming it's part of the Tales of series's gameplay.

I particularly like the pose in this, though. Her entire body is going towards the right and looks like a very powerful punch is about to ensue (or gathering from the words, maybe she's yelling really loud? Ah well, good to put your whole body into it anyway.) The only thing that bugs me is the eyes are focused more on the viewer, which lessens her focus on whatever she wants to impact. I think if they were looking to the right, it would have been more solid. Nice armor, by the by.
Now this...is a fantastic piece. It really displays how interesting her technique is (the type of blur she uses). Usually used on colours, I think it worked especially well with the black here. The blurred pieces really bring out the sharper edges within the piece and even though it's chaotic, the contrast of the light to dark areas bring the eye full-circle. The intensity of Kurogane's expressions is also mezmerizing. @_@ What appears to be runes around the slash give rise to more questions about this piece. Maybe he is using a magic sword? That's awesome. Love this one.
This last piece is actually half done by her sister *
Xakriuth. But I wanted to point out how creative her design is. These people are sheepybirds, and I'm really diggin' the concept. The background of the profile keeps it interesting, and although the saturation is a little much, it's countered well by the flatter colours of the characters. The poofy chibi is an adorable bonus.
6.

Sparky. This dude right here...is a futhermocking boss. He's super chill, great guy to just shoot the shit with. He's got a ridiculously clean yet wavy style. Cheeeck iiiit:

He's also kinda moved to tumblr. Though his more recent gallery doesn't feature them much, he draws a mean set of kicks as well as tengus (which there needs to be more of). Had a tough time picking these, but here they are. This first one of a hipster chick is just so awesome. tons of details in the glasses, ears and tats there. He's got some light shading going on. The pink complements the graffiti/surreal aspect of it. Also the actual graffiti/handie work going on the right is pretty much an art on its own. I'm always blown away by the versatility in his style.
This ID one is really cool. I dig the dripping effect and how even that is stylized. Lots of small details make the lineart really quality (even the pacman eyes have a little extra depth). fades of purple and pink complement nicely and really blend in this piece.
This Valkyrie piece has its share of lop-sidedness, but I really like the motion going on in the cape and hair. The shoulders also appear to be shrugging, which is kinda awkward for someone who should display confidence. What I really wanna point out, though, is the blacks in this. the details of the sheen on the shoulderpads, and the white cracks in the hammer give each material a different feel, and that's important. I also like that he didn't go full colour. The yellow and red were enough to make her stand out and gives focus to those two objects. The eyes are a more subtle focus, being so light. Primary triad. Comment saying you want a feature and I'll put ya up along with three of my favorite pieces of yours (comments included).
Still awaiting results for #
TheCity-OCT. Completely prepared and expecting to lose, 'cause ~
Falceto-Rekuri has a wonderful entry which exceeds mine plotwise.
Anyway, how are you all doing? :
D I've been kinda MIA 'cause of comics and stuff, but I wanna keep in touch with y'all. ♥
